As Grand & Graham Pets continues to grow, we’re always looking for responsible animal lovers to join our care team as part-time, pet sitters.
This flexible role allows you to work from various locations within San Francisco, with the requirement of spending an average of two weeks per month (consecutively or non-consecutively) overnight in clients' homes.
The ideal candidate for Grand & Graham Pets are long-term San Francisco residents who truly understand and value high-quality service. As a Pet Sitter at Grand & Graham Pets, you will play a vital role in delivering the in-person, front-line experience that defines our exceptional standard of pet care.
You should be adaptable, empathetic, and committed to building trusted relationships with the clients you work with. Experience with pets and client care is critical, as our ultimate goal is to create a seamless experience for clients that reflects the warmth and reliability Grand & Graham Pets stands for. Role Resonsiblities
Client Care Prep: Review client intake forms in advance, and discuss any questions or concerns with the client. You’ll need to take detail notes on the animal’s care.
Pet Sitting Duties: Stay at the client's home for the duration of the stay, including overnights; follow the agreed-upon care schedule to walk, play, and feed client’s dogs and cats as they require.
Daily Updates: Provide daily updates (including photos) to both the client and Grand & Graham Pets on the progress of care, ensuring transparency and peace of mind.
Home Care Tasks: Tidy the client's home, including wiping down counters, laundry of used linens, removing trash, and vacuuming if needed to clean up messes that the pets or you make during the stay.
Long -term Scheduling: You’ll need to be able to meet clients and prepare for bookings in advance, sometimes up to a year in advance.
Role Requirements
Passion for Animals: You’re passionate about animal care and are committed to delivering a high-quality, service-led client experience.
Dog Care Experience: Any dog care experience, including grooming, walking, or pet sitting. Candidates who have experience with reactive dogs will be prioritized.
Client Service Background: Demonstrable experience in hospitality, client services/engagement, or a similar field.
Self-Motivated & Organized: Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously, taking initiative, and keeping track of the animal’s schedule.
Emotional Intelligence: You are an effective communicator and carry a deep understanding of how to address client and pet needs with sensitivity. You need to be able to calm the anxieties of both pets and clients.
Availability for Overnights: Able to stay overnight at our client’s homes for an average of 14 days/2 weeks per month.
Location Flexibility: Must be willing to work remotely and travel anywhere in San Francisco (to our client’s homes!).
Age Criteria: 18 years or older
Note: occasional, in-person meetings may be required for training. Certification in pet care or dog training isn’t required, but can help you stand out as a candidate.
Important Details
This is a part-time, long-term position.
This is a 1099 position.
Must be 18 or older.
Must have transportation to anywhere in San Francisco.
Must have reliable mobile communication and be able to send and receive photos (of dogs) to employers and clients.
Typical bookings are 6-8 weeks in advance, and no sooner than 1 week in advance. We book out to one year in advance.
